VIRTUAL LECTURE: The Creative Power of Memory
April 13 @ 2:00 pm - 3:00 pm

with Jefferson A. Singer, Ph.D., Faulk Foundation Professor of Psychology, Connecticut College
$10 (Members 10% discount)
This talk discusses a particular type of personal memory studied by psychologists – the “self-defining memory”— a vivid, emotionally evocative memory that is linked to ongoing themes and/or conflicts in an individual’s personality. A valuable resource in self-understanding and psychotherapy, they can also be fertile sources of creativity. Examples are drawn from art, film, and literature, including Louise Bourgeois, Steven Spielberg, and Robert Louis Stevenson, among others.
