VIRTUAL LECTURE: Changing Conceptions of the American Dream
January 18 @ 11:00 am - 12:00 pm

“Who Wants to Be a Millionaire?: Changing Conceptions of the American Dream”
with Matthew Warshauer, Professor of History, Central Connecticut State University
$10 (Members 10% discount)
How does one achieve the American Dream? The answer undoubtedly depends upon one’s definition of the Dream, and there are many from which to choose. John Winthrop envisioned a religious paradise in a City upon a Hill. Martin Luther King, Jr. dreamed of racial equality. Both men yearned for what they perceived as perfection. Join Dr. Warshauer on ZOOM as he ponders this truly “American” theme which is a section of the current exhibition Dreams & Memories.
Dreams & Memories is on view October 1, 2022 – May 14, 2023.
